His 12 year old lawnmower broke. It's been raining like crazy and he will probably need a baler soon. But Scott doesn't have the extra cash right now. With a couple of kids on the way to college, you can imagine why.
My wallet is plenty light, too. I just finishing battling the IRS over taxes. I am semi retired and have a little side business and the IRS thought I should pay them about 30% of the gross. Ah, no. They are no fan of mine because I have suggested things that might change tax policy and get rid of them all together. Can you watch that clown on the congressional hearings with his cute smirk and not think it is time to kick the American Gestapo out?
Why and I so pissed? I just read a story about roads and how the road fund is almost broke. Is it because the gas tax is too low? Ah, no. Is it because we have built to many shiny new roads and bridges? Ah, no. It's because, like the Social Security "Trust" fund, the money has been stolen to pay for other stupid things like giving zillions to Iraq and other nations that hate us.
Enough already. We are broke. Us. The people who go to work every day and come home to a stack of bills that is killing us.
There are two causes for the mess we are in. Politicians is one. Lawyers is the other. Politician who are lawyers are nothing more than American terrorists. They have screwed us and it is time to do something about it.
If you think Boehner's lawsuit is going to help, you're dreaming. Congress holds the purse strings and it is time to cut. Cut big. Since the IRS wanted 30% of nothing from me, how about a 30% cut from them?
And while your are at it, do what Florida had the courage to do. Drug test people getting welfare checks. (Sorry Willie, you're wrong. Drugs do hurt people. In fact they kill people. Just look south of the border.)
Maybe a rework of unemployment benefits is a good idea. How about requiring someone who has been unemployed for longer than six months to enter training in a career that we actually need?
If that is not going to work, than maybe it is time for a new version of the CCC and the WPA. We are already paying for a labor force, why can't they be working on...you guessed it...new roads.
Just because the government couldn't recognize a new solution if it crawled out from under the Speaker's desk and bit him in the foot doesn't mean we have to open our wallets and pay more.
After all, the grass is growing and Scott has a lawnmower to fix.

Has the IRS finally screwed the pooch?
I don't know anyone who likes these thugs. Well, maybe tax preparation people and tax lawyers but the list gets pretty short after that.
And now they have really stepped in it.
They are using their power--which they have way too much of--to investigate organizations, people, and churches. Does that sound familiar?
Maybe we should allow them to really enjoy their position and buy them brass medallions and long leather coats. Or maybe, just maybe, the time is right to abolish this joke of a tax code and replace it with a flax tax and fire 90% of the IRS. Yes, I said fire them. We don't need an American Gestapo and that is exactly what this outfit acts like.
I am really fed up with the goofballs in power right now. Everywhere you look there seems to be more corruption and abuse of power. Let's get a handle on this right now. Let's see if one congressman or one senator has the courage to introduce a bill to abolish the tax code by a date CERTAIN and replace that code with a flat tax and lets cut the IRS down to size.
The "folks" need to turn up the heat on the losers in Washington.
